Manage online payments

Enable card or TWINT payment and choose what your members can pay online

With online payment, your members and guests pay for their bookings, their pay-as-you-go units or their wallet top-ups directly on the club website, by card or by TWINT. The money is collected by your payment provider (Saferpay, or Stripe and TWINT) and then paid into the club's account.

In the side menu, open Parameters, then Manage online payments. The page is divided into four blocks: activation, what can be paid, the payment provider and the terms and conditions.

This page is only offered if your Plugin.ch subscription includes the advanced modules. If you do not see it in the menu, contact Plugin.

1. Enable online payments

In the Online payments block, set the Authorise online payments switch to Yes. The What can be paid and Payment provider blocks then appear. If it is set to No, no online payment is offered on the club website.

2. Choose what can be paid

In the What can be paid block, choose the Currency used (CHF, EUR, GBP, USD or CAD), then enable the purchases you want to offer:

  • Authorise payment for reservation: the player pays for the booking when creating it.
  • Authorise purchase of items during reservation: while booking, the player can add items (racket hire, balls…). This line only appears if invoicing and the till are enabled for the club.
  • Authorise payment by non-members via PayPal: people who are not members pay for their booking at the guest rate.
  • Authorise purchase of personalised unit: members buy units of their pay-as-you-go subscription.
  • Add to electronic purse via PayPal: members top up their wallet online. This line only appears if the digital wallet is enabled.

3. Configure the payment provider

The Payment provider block has three tabs: Stripe, Saferpay and TWINT. A club uses either Saferpay, or Stripe and TWINT. When the page opens, the Saferpay tab is shown if the club already uses it, otherwise Stripe. The tab choice is not saved: only the fields you fill in are saved.

Stripe (cards)

Click Log on with Stripe. You are redirected to Stripe to create or link the club account (club details, bank account for payouts). Once the sign-up is complete at Stripe, the tab shows “Your Stripe account has been configured successfully.”, a See transactions made with Stripe button that opens your Stripe dashboard, and the Latest payments list. If the Log on with Stripe button is still shown, the sign-up at Stripe is not finished: click it again to complete it.

Saferpay

Enter the access details supplied by Saferpay for the payment interface: Customer ID, Terminal ID, Username and Password. These four fields are required. Below the fields, the Latest payments list shows the club's last 100 Saferpay payments, with the player's name, the amount and the date.

TWINT

Enter the identifiers supplied by TWINT for your till: MERCHANT_UUID, AGENT_UUID, CASHREGISTER_ID and PASS_PHRASE. In LOCAL_CERT, upload the .p12 certificate file downloaded from the TWINT portal, and enter in PASS_PHRASE the password chosen on the portal: Plugin.ch converts the certificate automatically, without going through an external website. An already converted certificate (.pem) is also accepted.

The certificate only needs to be sent once: if you later correct an identifier, the certificate already saved is kept. If the password does not match the .p12 file, a message says so: the other settings are saved and the old certificate stays in place.

TWINT tab with the certificate validity

TWINT tab: identifiers (fictitious values), certificate and validity date

Below the field, a line shows the validity of the installed certificate, for example "Installed certificate: valid until 25.12.2027.". A TWINT certificate is valid for a limited time:

  • Automatic renewal: Plugin.ch renews the certificate with TWINT itself during the 30 days before it expires. The line then shows the expiry date and the number of days left.
  • Renew now: this button starts the renewal straight away. TWINT only allows it shortly before the expiry date; earlier, a message says that Plugin.ch will do it automatically.
  • Expired certificate: it can no longer be renewed automatically. Download a new certificate from the TWINT portal and upload it in LOCAL_CERT. Until you do, TWINT refuses payments.

If the expiry date is approaching and the renewal has not succeeded, or if the certificate has expired, an alert also appears on the administration home page.

The list Latest payments list shows the TWINT payments of the last month; a refund appears there on a red background, with a negative amount.

Confidential data: these identifiers give access to the club's payment collection. Do not send them by e-mail and do not show them in a screenshot.

4. Refund a payment

In the Latest payments list of a tab, click the circular arrow icon at the end of the row. A window asks “What amount do you want to refund?”, with the full amount already filled in: keep it for a full refund or enter a smaller amount for a partial refund, then confirm. The refund is carried out immediately by the provider and the player is credited on their card or TWINT account.

Warning: a refund cannot be undone. It does not cancel the booking either: delete it yourself if necessary. Payments already refunded or cancelled no longer have a refund icon.

5. Enter your terms and conditions and save

In the Terms and conditions block, enter the address of your terms and conditions page in General terms and conditions (URL). This link is shown to members before payment.

Finally, click Save in the bottom bar. A message confirms the save. The Cancel button restores the values shown when the page was loaded.

Tip: once everything is configured, make a test booking with your own account on the club website to check the payment flow, then refund it from this page.

To check the payments received afterwards, see the article List of bank payments. To offer discounts on online purchases, see the article Promo codes.
